Day 1: Exploring the Bund and Old City

Shanghai, known as the "Paris of the East," is a bustling metropolis that seamlessly blends modernity with tradition. A perfect place to start your three-day trip is at the Bund, a waterfront promenade that offers spectacular views of the city skyline. The Bund is home to some of the most iconic buildings in Shanghai, including the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Shanghai Tower.

After you've taken in the views, head over to the Old City, a pedestrian-only area that transports you back in time with its winding alleys and traditional architecture. The area is home to the City God Temple, a must-visit spot that attracts thousands of visitors each year. Here, you can see locals offering incense and praying to the gods for good fortune.

Day 2: Visiting Yu Garden and French Concession

In the morning, take a stroll through Yu Garden, a traditional Chinese garden that was first built during the Ming Dynasty. The garden is a tranquil oasis in the middle of the bustling city and features beautiful pavilions, rock formations, and a koi pond.

Afterwards, make your way to the French Concession, a neighbourhood with a distinct European flair. The area is home to tree-lined streets, art galleries, and chic boutiques. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a leisurely brunch at one of the many cafes.

Day 3: Soaking up the Culture

On your final day in Shanghai, take the time to soak up the city's rich culture. Start the day by visiting the Shanghai Museum, a world-renowned museum that showcases China's ancient art and artefacts.

Next, head over to Tianzifang, a neighbourhood known for its lively atmosphere and unique blend of traditional and modern architecture. Here, you'll find a variety of shops selling everything from art and ceramics to clothing and souvenirs.

Finally, end your trip by taking in a traditional Chinese acrobatics show. The Shanghai Acrobatics Troupe is world-famous and puts on nightly performances that will leave you speechless.

Shanghai has something for everyone, whether you're interested in history, culture, or simply soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of this incredible city. With so much to see and do, three days is just enough time to get a taste of all that Shanghai has to offer.
